My dad had a Red Top in his truck for 10 years when it finally gave out. I had a Yellow top in my boat that was three years old when I bought it and lasted 3 more years before it went bad, it wasn't even being used for the right application. It should have had a Blue Top in it.

At my job we were replacing the battery in our genie lift every two years using the battery genie recommended. The last time we replaced it we used an Optima battery and right away we could tell a difference. The battery had a lot more power. The lift would boom faster, was stronger under a load and would last longer. I don't consider them a bad battery, but of course that's about all the experience with them I have to go by.
