Anyone else hate modern features?

These features are the only way Ford stays competitive when there's so much bad press about recalls, reliability, etc. The funny part is that a lot of the recalls are due to the extra technology.
I've got a platinum with all the features and almost all of them are disabled because they "work as designed" (which means they don't work at all) or they have become safety hazards. I mean...Ford should really focus on keeping their engines running reliably instead of focusing on all these pointless, gimmicky, flawed features for people who apparently don't know how to drive.

I hate all these modern features, including: backup cameras, beeping sounds, ***** to assist backing up a trailer, power windows, automatic transmissions, crappy phone integration, crappy GPS integration, crappy music player integration, TV screens, emergency phone calling bull****, cruise control, automatic headlight dimming, automatic engine start and stop, any AI that listens to or talks to me, self-parking, self-driving... and probably more.
Beeping sounds - I don't know, the only beeps I have are if I leave my keys in the ignition or don't have my seat belt on......only an idiot would want to prevent that.
***** to assist backing up a trailer - fair enough
Power window - you can't be serious...modern lol First came out in the 1940's
Auto transmissions - you mean the ones that are smoother / shift faster / more efficient than manual?
Crappy music / phone / GPS integration - better than trying to listen to static AM stations and an 8-track player
Cruise control - how TF is that bad?
Auto headlight dimming - ok not a fan
Auto engine start/stop - you hate adding fuel economy?
Self-parking - ok waste of time
Self-driving - none of the F150 lineup is self driving......you are doing it wrong

LMAO not a chance. I do agree with your view on Sync, I call it Stync cause it really is garbage. I like all the other things tho, more bells and whistles the better but then I'm a gadget junkie from the old school.

I am far from detesting technology, I just detest bad uses of technology - such as uses of technology to make my life worse and degrade the quality of my vehicle. When propietary computer technology is forced on us by manufacturers and the government making it non-optional/necessary, I can guarantee you it's not for our own good. It's 100% to line their pockets at our expense.

They are less efficient (eg. braking downhill then accelerating uphill) - at least traditionally. Same root problem as automatic transmissions: the car only knows the present, it doesn't know what's next. The human brain has foresight.
No but I think it's the wrong way to go about and it's another thing liable to break (already heard of some instances where it failed). Personally I avoid stopping as much as possible when driving so the amount of extra fuel I'd burn idling at lights is very small.

Took delivery of my 18 Sport two days ago...sounded like it was stalling out every time I came to a stop. My wife noticed the "A" would come on when it happened. I assumed it was a gas savings feature so she looked it up. Looky there....an "A" button on the dash. Hit it and no further issues. But then of course...it was off at the next start. I found that you can turn it off in advanced settings and hoping it stays off. It makes me cringe when it does it. I ponder how good it can be for the starter/engine over time. Does anyone else turn it off? Get use to it? So yes....technology.....lol.

I took the time to read all the way through this and all I can surmise is that the OP has some serious control issues.
OP, if you want a new vehicle just buy the lowest trim with the least options, that's as good as it's going to get for you.

Yeah, auto start stop is on all the new F-150's. Some people love it, some people hate it. I for one don't have it thankfully and if I ever end up with a vehicle that has it, it will be disabled. The starters are supposedly more durable (they use different bearings), but it's not the starter I worry about, I worry about the bearings withstanding start after start after start....I think Ford is really shooting for not having any of their vehicles make it past 150,000 miles...and in my opinion this is a good way to do it.
