2018 Platinum Lemon?
Hello all. I'm new here and created an account just to report an ongoing issue I'm having with my new Platinum F150 that I bought in June. Today, on my wife's and my anniversary, Christmas Eve, my truck left me stranded AGAIN in the middle of downtown Lexington, KY. This issue first occurred on November 30. While sitting in a left turn lane, I lifted my foot from the brake and moved to accelerate when the the vehicle seized up and shut off. I pushed the brake and put the truck in park and attempted to restart, but the engine wouldn't turn over and all I got was an array of error messages re: windshield wipers, gas being empty, I don't recall them all, but it seemed erratic; none of those were really occurring, instead, I believe it's an issue with the truck's computer. I ended up getting a tow to the local dealership and they ran diagnostics over the weekend and told me the only thing they found was an update for the primary computer code, or "PCM strategy".
Fast forward to today, my wife and I were again sitting at a left turn lane, I moved my foot from the brake and to accelerate when it again seized up. Same issue. I'm looking at lemon laws for the state of KY because this is now the second time in a month this has occurred. I've only had the truck for six months and I'm worried that I paid 60k for a unreliable, unsafe vehicle.
I Googled for others who might have similar issues, but found nothing recent. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I've had no other issues with the truck besides it seizing up like this.

it has to be the same issue 4 times within the first 12,000 miles or truck in the shop for 30 days straight.

Go only where you have to make right turns. Them left ones don't seem to agree with your truck.

Read this thread, its a little old but has some interesting followups and stuff from this year. Mentions a gateway module and main wiring harness and a layover cable.

I’ve had similar issues.
First they replaced the gateway, that did not fix it.
After an inordinate amount of time, they changed the harness between the engine and transmission, and so far it seems fixed. In the meantime, I stated the buyback process. I still don’t totally trust it, it could go hundreds of miles between episodes. But it has now gone 500 or so.

Far as vehicles, there is nothing worse than not trusting them.
Out of all the vehicles i've owned been only stranded once with a blown electric fuel pump years ago.
Been there, experienced that lately with my old Dodge with a p700, p740 code. Looks like a torque converter clutch solenoid or the converter itself.
Its stored for now in my barn til next Spring when i decide to do with it.
Luckily i have 3 other so far 'trustworthy' vehicles including my F150.
OPer, I'd give the dealership a chance to make your truck right. Never know, they might find the gremlin.

If your phone can take video, next time it happens, don't shut it off, but record the dash, then try to restart while still recording. make sure to open the doors when you shut it off to turn everything off, then try to start. Show it to the dealer so they have visual evidence of the occurrence, and email a copy to the dealer as well.
