I know about the edg delete. What's the point of that?

Then get an 02-03 with a 7.3 and the newer body style.

7.3 defiantly 6.0 has had a lot a problems. In my personal opinion the 7.3 was one of the best Diesel engines ever made. It was a work horse. Could pull what ever you put behind it. They should have never stopped making it. As an example I saw one pulling half of a double wide trailer home one time I know it's hard to believe and I would have never believed it if I didn't see it myself. Wish I would have gotten a picture.

Thank the EPA. They are slowly killing the diesel market in the US

Still undecided I could get a 7.3 and make the outside like the 07/08 but the inside would be different! Hmmm decision decision

If your set on a 7.3, get it, you already know you love the engine. You can always upgrade interior

Your right the 7.3 would cost me less and could upgrade the outside to look like the 07 6.0 and slowly fix the interior to my liking.

Actually the 6.0 from the factory doesn't use head studs unless a set of head gaskets were done, then they typically get studded with an ARP stud kit. They used torque to yield head bolts that couldn't hold up to the engine's power causing them to stretch more slightly lifting the head off the block deck in return blowing head gaskets. Along their other extensive history of common repairs.

I couldn't remember if it was studs or the headbolts that warped

The 6.0 is actually a pretty strong and reliable motor once all the common failures have been repaired. There's plenty out there that have dodged the bullet on most of the repairs but also there's a lot out there that have had it all done, kinda a crap shoot. Can't go wrong with a 7.3 either, pretty much bullet proof, just coming across one in good shape for a reasonable price can be a challenge in itself.
