What do you guys think my father in law could get out of his 1968 f100 custom. It has a 351 modified with an auto behind it. Runs and drives fine but he has too many cars. No rust no dents or anything like that. The interior is in remarkable shape and has been updated with a newwer sliding back glass, newwer seat, and is really in good shape i'll post some pics on here in a day or two.

Sounds like a nice truck to tinker with. Am having difficulty with the 1968 having a 351M. That vintage didn't Ford use the 360 big block?

Are you sure it isn't a 360 the 352 was phased out in 1967. Or is the 352 a replacement for the original engine? The 360 was not the best effort that Ford made in the V8 arena it was a very durable engine with a rotten set of heads and intake manifold. The 360 is a de-stroked 390 with out the excellent heads the 390 used. The 360 was a heavy engine being of the Y design which means the it had a long bottom section which makes for a super strong bottom end. Replace the heads and the intake manifold and you have a great engine that will last. The cheap fix for the heads is the install a set of heads from a 390 and replace the intake manifold with an after market unit, and of course an carb' upgrade. The biggest inprovement is in the gas mileage.
