This is my first truck and it has a terrible 360 big block and I am looking for some good upgrades for the motor or good swaps 1971 ford highboy body on a 1970 frame

I hate to say it but I never liked the 360 either, but the 390 engine is the brother to the 360. The way the exhaust manifold is made on the head kind of is what makes the heads expensive. Of course this is JMO

Yeah they are almost the same but the 360 has a bad rod knock and I was thinking about putting a early 460 in it but if that would not work a built 390 would go in it

rebuild the 360...its an FE engine so parts are very easy to find

the 460 IMO was not that good of an engine...reliable yes but not a real power house..if you want to do a swap find a 429

How much would a 429 cost used because I'm kinda on a smaller budget

then forget a 429...they didnt put them in a lot of cars and they are hard to come by

Well If I got a 460 I could get a boss nine but that would come out around 900
