Default Feel like I'm missing something

So I was looking at my truck today and came to the conclusion it's PLAIN. Feel like I'm missing something.

Currently sitting on 2.5 inch tough country lift, and 33 inch BFG's. Already have a brand new exhaust but that really doesn't add anything to it visually.

Do you guys think full length nerf bars would look out of place? I would like to do some sort of step or running boards of some sort.

Also been thinking of putting a light bar behind the cab with 4 lights but that requires me taking out the tool box which I'd rather not do. I'm going for the tough look, not the "just adding random stuff" look.

Any ideas?

if it was me... new wheels, blacked out windows, cb antennas on the tool box, cab lights, tailgate light bar, take the brush guard off and replace with a bull bar (i just like them a little better) some off road lights on it, some chrome wheel arches, some chrome nerf bars, chrome billet grille, chrome bed side caps, chrome the tool box.... but thats what i would do i think chrome can add a tone to a truck!

I like the light bar, just not sure since it looks like that it might stick up too far above the cab. I'd really have to see it on a vehicle first.

As for the chrome.... I'm not a chrome guy. I've never liked chrome on pretty much anything. As for the brush guard, I sort of want to get rid of it and replace it with a bull bar but I'd have to get a new front bumper because of how the previous owner bolted it on.

understand that ummm if you are going to get a new bumper and keep the whole 4x4 look i would spring for the big winch bumper with like the black diamond plating. i just have always liked chrome esp. with a red of black but its all personal preference.... what about pipes straight out the back? wider tiers and some fender flairs, roll up bed cover, heavy duty off road front and rear bumper, light it up lights alway look good on just about any kind of truck.

I'm with these guys except for the chrome stuff. If you're keeping the 4x4 look, I would think about losing that front bumper thing, replace with a winch bumper of some sort. I don't like the ranch hand, diamond plate bumpers, maybe like the ones on broncoair.com. I feel ya on the roof light bar. I like the racer back, goes on the bed rails right behind the cab, mount lights to that or not, still looks good. Black fender flares maybe the cutout style. Tint the windows, definetly paint it. I love those old hurricane wheels you have, polish the ribs, paint the inside. replace that rear bumper with a heavy duty unit, maybe with a tire carrier, jerry can holders. Get the tire out of the bed, lose the factory one under the truck thats not doing anything. Cowl hood perhaps. I don't like nerf bars, or step bars, looks goofy, but i know alot of other people do, 4x4 look I would say no to nerf bars. Windshield visor with or with out lights, always liked them. Good luck. No matter what anyone says, it's your truck, you gotta be happy with the way it looks.

I have a rear tube tube type bumper (4.5" dia.) with integrated Class III hitch on my '86. I like the look of that but it's a short bed regular cab.

If your spare does not fit up under then I would remove the spare tire carrier bar.

I'd start with painting it black with silver down the middle of each side and adding chrome trim from a lariat along the side... nerf bars will make it look like its lower to the ground. definatly lose the brush guard and addd a bull bar. add marker lights on the roof. cowl induction hood wouuld add a badass look from the front. I'd definatly go with the light bar

paint, spray bedliner in bed toolbox+bumpers, tinted windows, new chrome grille....possibilities are endless but don't mess up a classic with a light bar or nerf bars.
