I've got a headman header with a single chamber flomaster. One in two out. It looks like NASCAR exhaust. But it's gonna have the header with dual glass packs and probably gonna stop after the axle.

Before i decided on glass packs I planed on putting flow master super 44s under it. They say they are the most aggressive sounding mufflers on the market. But they are like $120 a piece if I remember right.

You talking Cat back or header and all? Last truck I had I did a Cat back system with a free flowing cat, 50 series Flow Master, single in/Dual out, and duals all the way out the rear. Found it was cheaper to just take it to a local custom exhaust shop and have one made than it would have been for a name brand system.

Being an 84 it should have a cat by law but that's up to you and if you have to deal with inspections or not. Me personally, I would use a good free flowing aftermarket cat. They don't cost that much, or hurt performance, and it keeps it legal.

I've got a resonator on my truck. I didn't have to have a cat. I could have one or the other. And there's a cat or resonator on older cars that are two piece. If you can find one I'd get it unbolt it and clean it out, bolt it back together and to the average joe you have got it and it will still pass inspection. I think they was on old ford cars if I remember right.
