Default Ignition and steering wheel stuck on lock...

I recently purchased an 86 150 beauty, to be honest my first PU, and oldest car Ive ever owned. Got it for a steel tho and she runs great.

Although last night when I left work I stopped at the store and when I came back out the wheel and the ignition were locked up and i cant get it unstuck no matter how much jigglin and shakin and pushin.

I know I'll have to get it towed but was wondering if anyone had any idea as to what has to be fixed, and how much it should cost...?
or even if i could do it myself? i dont know my way around cars very well but im pretty handy and learn easily, I also have a repair manual.

thoughts? thanks in advance yall.

Sounds like your ignition lock cylinder is jammed for some reason. (the thing you stick the key into) An easy fix, usually it's something like this: purchase new lock cylinder from your local auto parts store; pull the steering wheel; remove the lock cylinder; install new one; replace wheel; done deal. Check your repair manual and see if there's instructions for that in it.
