Wireless Connection Failed
It has been ~ 8 months, but I happened to travel that same road again yesterday. I had the drop outs of my wireless CarPlay in the two same exact locations. It is always within a 50 yard area on the road. Still no scientific analysis or proof of cause, but I’m gonna stick with the interference of some other radio signal that causes the WiFi between the phone and truck to fail…. 🥴
I started this thread. I have been searching often online for a solution but no one has come up with one yet. I have two areas that I pass through that it happens. I go through one every Monday evening. I am heading that way again today. If I ever figure it out I will post to this thread.
Don't use Android or Samdung, but I have on long rides with my XR when using it as a phone, music source and Carplay nav, while plugged in, has overheated and needed to be shut down to cool off.....
I have this same problem in my 2023 XLT. Seems to have gotten worse with the last upgrade of the Ford. If I knew of a workaround. Last time I tried a cable, that didn't work either. This sounds like a bug in the Ford. It is not location dependant. I know those locations from using a AA Wireless adaptor in another vehicle with only wired Android Auto. That wireless adaptor automatically reconnects after the interference. The F150 never does. Tempted to put adaptor in F150, except I paid for wireless AA in this truck and it does not work reliably.

I am back at the dealership for an oil change and the service techs just look at me like I’m crazy when I explain the issue.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
23 F-150 Police Responder. 5700 miles. I have been having this issue since day one with Android Auto. Constantly loosing connection in all kinds of random places, nothing consistent. Can’t find a solution so I thought it might be my phone. Nope. Just bought a brand new iPad Air yesterday and it can’t keep a basic Bluetooth connection for music only for even one full song. It looses the connection and says no response from the iPad but iPad says it is still connected.

If they would simply use Bluetooth to stream music and Wi-Fi for maps/other features of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay I think it wouldn't be an issue. I have never had an issue with BT but, in 2 specific spots on my normal route I get the error...in 2 different SYNC 4 vehicles with 2 different phones (Apple and Samsung). I tried turning off Wi-Fi auto-connect and other features of the phone but, no luck yet. I suppose they want to force you to buy their maps and stream audio via BT instead of using the far better solution of the phone apps. Insane to have to deal with something so stupid in 2024. If it is interference (what else could it be), I wonder if there is an FCC concern? I hope we can keep this thread relevant until there is a solution!!!
