Default Website used to find trucks

What is everyone using to try to find a truck that is already built to the specs im looking for. Im using autotrader but it is a pain in the butt. I wish ford would let you build out the truck you want and then let you check for inventory throughout the country.

Im looking for a:

King Ranch 4x4 Supercrew 3.5 V6 5.5' bed
Either white or black 2 tone
NO chrome package
601A package
360 degree camera
Ford ecopilot active 2.0 prep
Max trailer tow? (not really sure with all the different tow options)
36 gallon gas tank (believe it is included with max tow)
interior work surface
max recline seats
lockable fold flat storage (not a deal breaker)
twin panel moon roof (not sure I want one again)

Is there a website I can use to see what is coming to Ford dealership? I think there was in 2015, the last time I did this crap. I guess I pick bad years. lol

Or, how long is the wait right now for a new build?

Thank you!

Before I ordered a truck, I was going through the inventory locator and just clicking on every vehicle that matched the larger options (Supercrew, Lariat, 502A, 4x4, Powerboost) and looking at the window sticker to see if it matched what I wanted. Despite looking at probably 100 trucks, I could never find one that had everything, so that is when I decided to just order what I wanted.

I used to go to build the truck I wanted then go to find your truck section, and then just change the inventory radius and change zip codes a bit. Nice thing about that site is it shows you vehicles on the way to the dealer, where most 3rd parties (from what I have seen at least) only show on the lot inventory.

A local dealer can do a much wider search, and do a dealer trade.

I used build and price then searched inventory. I wanted a Lariat with Max Tow, Star White and Baja Tan interior. A dealer near me had one listed in transit. I emailed them and a salesman contacted me and told me that it had just arrived. January build date and I got it the second week of February.

Im in the same boat and have been looking online for months.

Cars.Com is the best that Ive found because it has the most options to choose from for private websites and it searches the whole USA. Fords official website wants to steer you to local dealers in your zip code territory. The maximum search radius is 100 miles.

As far as a new build, some have ordered in December and still dont have their trucks. Now, there is some chip shortage.

simply use the Ford website...you "build" your truck and then ask for it to 'find your vehicle' within XXX miles of XXXXX zipcode. Makes it REALLY easy.

It's easiest to use your local Ford salesman to do a search of what you're looking for on Ford's Dealer Locxater system.

But in times of such low inventories, dealers are often hesitant to do dealers transfers..

I have been using the FORD.COM build-a-car web site for awhile now, and it can be helpful. Unfortunately, it is hopelessly inaccurate. It sometimes flags the search results with "Dealer Ordered" or "Just Arrived," but when I contact the dealership, they often can't find it at all, even with the VIN from the website. Conversely, dealers often have similar vehicles on the lot that did not show up at all in the web search. Part of it seems to be confused by special orders intermingled with regular dealer orders.

I did find that you can increase the search range from the maximum of 100 miles by editing the search text directly in the browser, and that has helped at times. For example, you can change the Radius in ".../f150/results?zipcode=85392&Radius=100&modeltrim=..." from 100 to 200, and it will pick up more dealers in a big metropolitan areas.

Maybe the most handy feature on the Ford.com website is the "View Window Sticker" option, which seems to be the most accurate way to see detail information about a specific truck. Dealer websites are notoriously inaccurate, often making glaring errors on huge details such as engine type.

Some dealers won't even admit that they have a special order truck in house while they are prepping it for the customer. Others have been a little more accommodating, and will allow you to at least look at a truck that is already sold, although of course you can't drive it. I wouldn't want anyone driving my new truck, either.

I am past the idea of finding a suitable truck in any dealer inventory, and will soon be submitting a special order.
