Default Updates turned off

I have all updates turned off. My truck has never run so great. The only thing is everytime I turn on the truck the screen always shows the map and before it would always go back to my last screen when I turn off vehicle which was always audio. I don’t have navigation but why does the map always show where I am. Is there a way to turn off the map from showing my location. Thanks.

There is no good reason to turn the OTA updates off.

Why would I want an update when the truck is perfect now. All they can do is make it worse.

You do realize that turning auto-updates to off won't actually prevent updates from installing correct? It just stops those updates that require the vehicle to be inhibited (not running) from installing.

Did not know that. Thanks. Had a feeling you could never really stop updates.

You most certainly can stop updates permanently. Trade it in for a 2021. 3 years and still waiting!

The only way is by unplugging the TCU or pulling the fuse for it. If you do, you loose Fordpass and all connected features.

What happened to me is good reason….

1 completely disabled truck until reprogrammed.

The other truck with all the Adas features, including basic cruise control not working for a month….

While at the dealer, there was a bricked Mustang Mach E that not even the dealer could get into, when I talked to them about it they said the updates are wreaking havoc on things.
