Default undercarriage rust

Just got a 2021 platinum powerboost hybrid a month ago. I crawled under today to see if it had any of the loose sound insulation that has been an issue affecting the drive shaft. It looked fine, but I did notice a ton of parts under there had quite a bit of rust already. not just a little either. pretty thick. currently have 2200 miles on it. Will try to get some pics in the daylight tomorrow. Is that normal or something I should be concerned about?
thanks!

Pretty normal. Rear axle especially on these trucks. I wouldn't worry about it.

That seems to be the new norm. You are not the first report.

the frame and everything under the truck is steel--steel rusts. Surface rust is common and you should expect it. I would not loose any sleep over it-- you got 10 to 15 years before it becomes a problem

flash rust, normal, believe it or not it actually somewhat protects the metal underneath

They have been reducing the number of underbody steel components that get coatings for two decades now. I think they realize the only people that notice are a tiny minority.

I had my 2021 oil undercoating done. https://nhoilundercoating.com I couldn’t be happier.
It’s an oil that penetrates and pushes out water and neutralizes salt, vs. coatings that leak and hold moisture against the metal.

I mean I did drive my last vehicle for over 11 years (a Chevy Avalanche) and this one is not even 2 months old so I guess that could end up being a problem if its started already

do you know how long that lasts? do you have to get it reapplied?
thanks
