Default Two ?s, Remote Start & Auto Stop

I am having a couple issues with my remote start and my auto stop.

The auto stop (which I hate and would love to permanently disable) has a button on the dash to turn it on and off, but that button has a mind of its own. I can turn off auto-stop, and a couple days later it is back on again. I thought I had found the dashboard menu settings to turn it off, but now I cannot relocate those settings. Any insight or help?

The remote start is a great feature, but it doesn't do what I want it to. Say I get home from work Tuesday night. I know the weather forecast for Wednesday morning is below freezing and probably with frost. I set the fan on high, the defrost (Front and rear) on high, set the seat heater to three bars and hope that when I remote start it in the morning that the windows are all defrosted and the seat is maxed out and the heat in the cab is toasty. Instead, it has some lesser setting that it seems to sense (A/C vs heat depending on outside temperature) and engage despite what I stopped the truck with the night before. The settings I do want kick on, but only after I am already in the truck and press the start button. That defeats the purpose, I want it toasty and defrosted BEFORE I get into the truck and drive away. I want it to perform as it was set when the vehicle was last on, not what the truck wants to do. Any way to remedy this?

Thanks!

There is a setting that states "remember last settings" for your heat and stuff!!
You Auto start stop resets to On after you cut off the truck! You have to disable it each time!

Correct, this is all covered in the manual and you can search "2021 F-150 Manual" in google and go to the Ford site and download the original style manual and read about all of these things. In the instrument cluster settings are where you define remote start behavior including default time interval, if climate/seats/heated steering wheel should be Auto or Last Setting, stuff like that.

Auto stop/start has to be disabled each time also as noted, it doesn't have a mind of its own and is working as intended. You may drive the truck without it turning off the engine because there are about ten common reasons the engine won't shut off, most common of those being engine temp, battery level, and drive mode setting (Sport Mode for example at least makes it less likely to turn off).

I have a similar issue with the remote start operation. I have mine set to auto for both the HVAC and Seats. However the Steering wheel and seats don't turn on until after I push the start button. My 2015 would turn them on at the initial start. This meant the seat and steering wheel was warm when you got in. My 2021 does not do this and I really wish it did.

IceColdAK and Vulnox, thank you for your responses - they have answered my questions. That manual (I did obtain a copy) is like reading the Bible or the California Vehicle Code. There is a lot of information to absorb, much of which depends on your options, and requires a time investment most folks just don't have. Definite fodder for an engineer though. I will play with the settings as you have described and educate myself on the options. Thanks again.

If its set to automatic, on remote start the truck will do what it senses regardless of your previous settings.

You can disable that feature.

The pictures are backwards, first go to remote start setup, then climate control.

The manual at 750 pages is a bit daunting. I downloaded a copy months before I got my truck and I made a point to spent 5 -10 minutes daily to read a section. It really helped and it helped me stay excited for the 6 months it took to get my truck.

At the risk of sounding stupid. Are you sure they are not on? The indicator lights on the dash do not light up when those are activated by the remote start.

Checked the settings o. The dashboard screen menu - they were already set to “Last Settings.” Wonder why it doesn’t go that.

My heated seats and wheel do not come on when started in cold weather and it is set to automatic. If I set the HVAC to auto, I come out to see the fan barely blowing air. I have to set it for last setting on the dash and then remember to turn my heat and fan to max when I shut off my truck. I know others do not have these issues, so maybe it's time to take into dealer.

My 2013 was set to auto and the fan would blow max speed and after a few minutes, it was nice and toasty in the truck.
