Default Tinted windshield problems

I am kicking around the idea of doing a very light tint on my windshield.. the Texas heat is brutal in the summer.

I know there are cameras and sensors in the rear view that are part of the lane keeping, the auto high beam, and the speed limit recognition..

To the guys who have film on the front, are you having issues with any?

Again, I’m not looking to do 5%… I would have them use the lightest film they have, and only done really for protecting the dash and heat reduction

I have Air 80 (I think that’s what it’s called) on my windshield and I have zero issues. It’s not really tinted, but it blocks the UV rays and keeps the truck noticeably cooler in the FL heat.

I am considering it too. Guys at work did it and went with 35 % and liked it. I was thinking of 50% but am worried too about sensors and cameras

that’s my goal.. I work shift work and drive a lot in the dark so I don’t want it blacked out

Air80 or Ceramic 70% for the UV/Heat. No issues on wife's '22 KIA with tones of sensors/cameras.
Ceramic 50% if you want UV/Heat + some privacy but not a cop magnet. Overcast days and depending on cab window% it can look dark from the outside but not over bearing. My 2013 for reference. 20% on front doors, 5% over rear 3, 50% windshield.

I did clear on the windshields of my 15 Lariat & 19 KR with no issues. Will be going back with the same on my 22 when/if it arrives.

I have 50% on the windshield of my 2014 and the only sensor I know about is the one for auto headlights, and it works fine. I was hoping to do the same on my platinum when it comes in. I can't imagine that level would impact the sensors. I have 50% windshield with 10% on the rest of the cab, it's dark but not too dark for me at night.

I'll add that with my Air 80 tint I had to buy new lenses for my polarized RayBans because of the rainbow effect on the film. But other than that one thing it's great.

I am doing 5% over the factory Privacy glass and 20% over whatever the dealer did as well… but I sure like that look you have. I bet it helps with the glare from other headlights too

huge improvement with headlight glare. Not quite dark enough to not need sunglasses during the mornings/evenings but certainly makes a difference.
