Default Tilted Tailgate?

I have seen several threads about tailgates that do not close evenly but can't find one about what I see with mine. When viewed from the rear, the tailgate seems tilted to the left. The result is a bigger gap on the right side than the left, where it makes contact with the edge of the cap. The cap is even left and right. I did not have (or notice) this problem before, and lately I have taken the truck on its first truly rough roads and trails. Anyone else seen this--and corrected it? Are the hinges on the body adjustable?

The photos show the different in gaps, the the contact point with the cap on the left.

As I remember it the hinges are adjustable for fit, you can fix that.

Here's another photo showing the entire tailgate. Not obvious but angled to the left.

Can see in the full view the bottom left of tailgate is slightly below body panel below tail light.

Weird issue.

I have the same issue on mine. Perfect on the left, off on the right.

The really weird thing is that for 2 months the tailgate did not make contact with the cap. And then (after some rough riding, like I said), there was significant contact.

The second picture has a piece that is similiar to the piece in your truck holding the tail gate pivot point in place (and support tailgate's weight), the 2 holes in that piece are much larger than bolts used, so my guess is they are not tightened up from the factory. they have red loctite from factory, You will need a heat gun before loosen up and tighten those screws but very easy to adjust.

When I worked at a bodyshop it wasn't out of the ordinary to use the portapower, a come-along, or even the frame machine to pull in or push out the top of a bed. I've never done this on an aluminum bed, but have on steel.
