My 23 has an electric release on tail gate. It's not the powered tail gate. Is it normal to take 2 pushes on button to open. The first push gets a click some where towards front of truck and then second push the tail gate opens up. The truck isn't locked so kinda curios what the first click is, but if it's normal then so be it. Thanks Jim

just be glad it opened! Mine from brand new didn't and it took 3 trips to the dealer for them to finally figure out what was wrong and make repairs( bad tailgate wiring harness)

Some 2021-2022 F-150 vehicles built on or before 22-Mar-2022 at Dearborn Truck Plant or built on
or before 11-May-2022 at Kansas City Assembly Plant and equipped with power tailgate release
may exhibit a perceived inoperative power tailgate latch release function. This may be due to a
change to the power tailgate release strategy after the body control module (BCM) has received a
software update or the BCM has been replaced. When using the power tailgate release switch in the
instrument panel, release switch on the tailgate, or the remote keyless entry (RKE) fob, the power
tailgate release switch must be pressed 2 times (2x) within3 seconds with the transmission in Park
for the tailgate to release. If the power tailgate release is still inoperative, refer to Workshop Manual
(WSM), Section 501-14 for normal diagnostics

I was 10 minutes from leaving to pick up my 2022 Platinum when i got the phone-call. Tailgate not working service has the truck. That was Thursday and still no truck.

 

I guess they are going to have to "refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14 for normal diagnostics" ...
