Plus the boxes just lift up and out, so unless you are hauling plywood daily, you could in seconds lift one or both sides out and either store them in the cab or leave them in the garage, or set them on top of the plywood for the ride, etc. You don't need tools to remove them.

Good point on removal of the boxes. Back to considering them. These are mounting holes that are plugged. Would I punch them out or drill?

Pretty sure that's not where it mounts. It mounts to the three holes at the back right in front of the tailgate when it opens, and where the box link goes up top for when it's closed.
Main mount point, handles the majority of the box weight and where it swings out.
Where you took a pic, nothing should be punched out there.
Box Link, you have to remove the box link if you are using the boxes, just the Torx bolts there, then put the mounting plate in they provide. That's where it locks in in closed position and where you should be looking, not the plugged area.
You can see it at 5:00 on the video SPOAT posted for install, it is not down low like you shot. It's the box link and it should be there no matter what.

It has all been cleared up in my mind. I saw your picture of the Cleat and did not realize those are the screw holes for mounting the latch plate. Very good.
It appears to me that American Trucks Swing case and Ford Pivot Tool Storage are the same boxes with different emblems. Can anyone verify this? or is there a difference I do not see?

I think you are correct...they appear to be the same right down to the molded-in features. Husky has a VERY similar one.
I store the tie down straps, the cleats to go in the brackets on the side of the bed, a pull strap and I think....a couple rolls of caution tape in it
It does NOT stick out beyond the wheelwell.. It's coming back off Monday to get the spray in done.
