I agree. While my 2020 5.0 FX4 didn't even come with the fabric diaper, the factory skid plates and their coverage are pretty laughable. I would not consider doing anything other than mild off-roading without a proper upgrade.

No dice on a warranty transmission diaper from the local dealer, and I didn't even ask how much it was- why bother paying for something that's just gonna fail again. I did get the RCI transmission skid plate ordered, and they said 5 weeks. Figure I'll just take off the transmission diaper if the zip ties pull through before my RCI skid plate arrives. I'll at least give the factory skid plates a chance, and if they're falling apart before this summer is over, I'll get the rest of the RCI skid plates too.

Maybe a new improved "military grade fuzzy plastic" will be offered for under truck protection called "The FzX4 package"......lmao

I put a Raptor shield (Steel) on my 2021 FX4 no issues. They also protect the two CATS from hack saws.

I put Raptor guard on mine it is steel from Ford (2021 Lariat FX4)

I like the idea, does the raptor shield affect access to the oil pan drain plug ?? Mine is a 5.0

Ditto, the Raptor shield fits and protects. Reasonable price, 135 dollars CDN.
