Default Speaker Replacements?

Hey all. I was curious if anyone has replaced their door speakers? I just have a basic STX crew cab so there's speakers in the A pillar, front doors, and rear doors. Crutchfield has replacements for the tweeters (no adapters, and they're probably a pain in the *** to replace so I'll probably leave those) and they have options for the front doors (6.5"/6.75") along with adapters, but they list nothing for the rear doors. I'm not trying to go loud here, but I know that replacing the factory speakers will give me a good bang for my buck. Thanks!

I had mine replaced. I put some Hertz Audio 6x9's in (stock size). Separates in the front, and coaxial in the rear doors. According to my installer, all of the door speakers are the same, from the base system to the Unleashed.....same 6x9's.

I just replaced all of mine and added in a 5 channel amp. If you tell Crutchfield's site that you have the previous gen, it will suggest the correct Metra adapter mounts and plugs.

The tweeters in the a-pillars were arguably the easiest part for me. I ordered some JBL components for the front and they came with enough different tweeter adapters where I was able to get them to fit perfectly with the OEM mounts.

Did you replace the center dash one as well? Is that still a 3.5" speaker?

I left that one alone.

So the speakers are the same size and all from 2020-2021? Looks like for 2020 they list 6x9 options for the fronts as well as 6.5 and 6.75, and just 6.5/6.75 for the rears. For 2021 they only list 6.5 and 6.75 for the fronts and nothing for the rears. I suppose I could just pop off the grills and take a look for myself, but that's what the internet is for.

Ha! I did 6x9 components in the front and 6-3/4" 2-ways in the rear. You'll need adapters for both, though because Ford integrates their speakers with a plastic molding to fit the weird-shaped hole in the door. I used the Metra 82-5606 and Metra 82-5605 mounting adapters for my installation. I also used the Metra 72-5602 wire harnesses for both sets to connect the aftermarket speakers to the factory wiring in the door.

Here’s a pic of the take-outs. These are from my SCrew 302a XLT with 12” screen and base 7 speaker system.

I wonder if that’s the same speakers I have in my STX? I think I just have the 6 speaker system though. No center speaker for me I believe.

I put a set of fairly large deep Morel 962 with silicone baffle in the doors and tweeters in the pillars. Door speakers fit fine, and the tweeter were simple (much more that the doors), by making a mounting strap from plastic strips cut from a milk jug. No idea on rear as I have a RCSB. KM
