I'm new to the world of fancy trucks needing software updates. I cannot figure out my '22 3.5L software updates. Here's what I'm experiencing, has anyone been through anything like this? Is the dealer my only option to get things done?
-truck shows the recent window functionality update is available.
-app shows 10.1.1 power management update is available.
-truck says automatic updates are OFF. I turn them on, and next time I get in it's magically switched off.
-app says automatic updates are ON.
-is there a button to force the update?
-is there a history of completed updates?
-occasionally the truck screen will pop up with the "update is scheduled for tonight at 1am" but it never happens.
-last year when the rear camera recall software came out, my truck never updated. I took it to the dealer and it took 3 days to do and they had to call Ford engineering. Could there be a bigger bug in my truck that doesn't like OTA updates?
@ericjean Message me the VIN. I can see why it is not installing, but 99% of the time, the reason is due to low 12v battery charge. The reason the app whos 10.1.0 is because that is the last successul OTA you have. Until the OTA for the door module installs (or fails), that message in the app will remain there. Once the OTA attempt for the door modules is finalized, the app will reflect the details of whatever happened with the OTA you have trying to install right now.
My app also looks like that, and I'm connected to my home wifi. However, my truck screen says updates are turned off. That's why I'm wondering if there is a bug somewhere.

Got your message. Your currently have a total of 4 OTA updates in queue waiting to install, but the door module update is hung up for some reason. Your truck downloaded the files, but it has not actually attempted to install then and the reason why is not clear. Battery SoC was last reported at 74% which is a little low, but it not failing to install due to the battery....it is not attempting to install at all. It does show auto-updates is turned on on Ford's side. It is possible that the GWM is hung up in funky state. What I would recommend you try is to disconnect the negative cable fromt he 12v battery under the hood for 20 minutes and when you reconnect the battery, go to the screen where you check for updates and see if it lets you install it manually. Also, check if the battery disconnect allows you to turn auto updates on and it stays on.
By the way, it shows OTA 10.1.1 for the TCU did install the second time it was sent to you back in December.
That's amazing, thank you @rugedraw I will try that with my battery! Not coincidentally, that Dec 17 line was day 3 of the 3-day update mentioned in my original post.
Unfortunately the negative terminal trick did not prove successful. It did not let me update manually nor keep the auto updates on. I may try it again or just resort to having the dealer do it. Unless you have any other grand ideas, I sure appreciate your input, @rugedraw

Nothing else you can try on your end. Give me a bit to reach out to a contact I have to see if there is anything I can do to help.
Good work. I keep close tabs on my battery and before I changed it (I have a 21).
In January, the old battery would take 30-50 miles to recharge sufficiently for the reported voltage to drop from high 14v under 13volts. With the new battery I recently wasn't around for a week, got in, reading high 14 volts for the first 15 or so miles then dropped down to high 12 volts.
Conclusion: Old batteries recharge more slowly than newer batteries.
