Waited 3 months to get my truck. Been loving it.

then…..
Kid driving way to fast hits my front end. Lucky no one was hurt. Him especially. His Corolla is a write off.

so I’m likely gonna end up 3 months waiting now for it to be fixed.

this is what I received from the collision repair centre. The Fender Bracket (ML3Z16A142B) and the front valence panel (ML3Z17626P) are back ordered.
  • Bracket is experiencing a receiving delay.
  • Panel is under a component part shortage.

That does suck and now the truck will show as being in an accident if you ever decide to sell it.

Hopefully the truck is drivable as-is?

it is. The collision company bent the fender so it won’t rub on the tire or cause that horrific pop noise whenever the passenger door is opened.

That sucks. I swear that I had more close calls in the first 2000 miles of ownership of my truck than I've had in decades of driving. Starting with the drive home from the dealership.

Glad you're alright, hopefully the wait isn't too long.

But yeah, what did happen? I am surprised to see the front right of your truck damaged and the side of theirs, and it looks like they were pushed off the road. Did they run a stop sign or something? Just from the pics I would have guessed you hit them (which isn't a claim of fault, doesn't really matter in the end, just curious).

he was coming around the corner too fast and crossed the lane right in front of me. Clipped my passenger side.
