I have decided to just order a Lariat tomorrow since I'm not going to find what I want on a lot. But...I really do want the console shifter. I know that with the XLT 302A you have to get the Sport Package to get the console shifter.
But I am thinking about ordering a Lariat 501A with neither Sport or Chrome Package...but with two tone paint. I can get the color (Kodiak Brown) and options I want, with painted bumpers (Stone Gray)...but I'm not sure what is required to be able to get the console shifter in the Lariat.
I have seen Lariats with column shift...but if I remember correctly they were the 500A package. I drove a Lariat 501A yesterday with the chrome package and it had the floor (console) shifter.
Is the Chrome or Sport package required on a Lariat 501A to get the console shifter or is it just the 501A and above required?

Think I found the answer. Have to get the 502A for floor shift to be standard equipment.....dang.

If anyone has more knowledge about this please chime in. I could use the help .

 

a 501A lariat with a column shifter is not a common bird at all. standard on 502A. id say 70%-80% of 501A lariats have a console shifter.

 

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely be talking with the sales manager tomorrow. I just found in the 2021 Order Guide that you can get the $650 option for the Leather trimmed bucket seats with flow through console with console shifter. Seems odd to me that it's listed as Leather trimmed bucket seats....since the Lariat comes with leather anyway. But I'll gladly give the extra to be able to configure the truck the way I want it with the colors I want .

I have a 500a with the 650 charge for the console and have the console shifter. I would expect it to be a column shift without the added console.

 

Thanks for the info. I looked at two 501A Lariats a couple of days ago...and both had the Chrome Package....yet had the console shifter. But both had the "Leather trimmed bucket seats with flow thru console" option.

I now have my build configured...with Kodiak Brown main color, with the Stone Gray as the two tone accent color. Really looks nice in the build pics.

 

I recently ordered the same layout, i.e., the 501A Lariat with the bucket seats/console shifter, and flow thru console. I didn't want either the Chrome package nor Sport package look, plus I really like the standard machined aluminum wheels on this year's Lariat (Tremor uses same wheel except painted).

Regarding the $650 option price, you can get the console with cloth bucket seats as an option on an XLT for $295, but the XLT option does not include the shifter, so I think the extra cost on the Lariat is for the console shifter, not the leather.

 

True....they should just call it a "40-20-40 Console w / floor shifter" option

 

May not apply to a Lariat but for an XLT chrome bumpers (chrome package) gives you a column shifter and painted bumpers (sport package) gives you console shifters.

 

All XLTs but the sport package have a column shifter
