Default PWERBOOST usage

We're 48 hours into a power outage -
using generator mode, simply using the 3 prong receptacles to run
fridge, freezer, a modem for wi=fi, my PC and charge phones and flashlights etc.

I have the 7.2KW unit, and it is working like a charm. & the gas motor fires up maybe once per hour, for 5 minutes (plus or minus)
So my observations / questions:

1: Any time limitations as to running the system like this (we don't know when the power will come back on)
2. In test mode I got the GFI trip error, but ignored it. plugged in my loads, and has worked beautifully
3. Yesterday - in about 16 hrs the gas needle hardly moved - I am reading an "85 hour" time duration for "generator mode" but I guess if the load is small these things will run much longer

Discussion - what have you Powerboost owners experienced with the 7.2KW?

Please advise.

I used it to power our home down in Mexico. I am so glad I opted for the 7.2kW. After a week, we used up about half a tank. That was with air conditioning and electric stove.

Default The on board generator is a plus.

I use mine very often to power my RV for 12 hours at a time. No issues at all. If the AC is running in the RV it may use up to 4 gallons of fuel overnight. That is less than my regular inverter 3.5 KW and much quieter.

Very tempting, I might go for a power boost next time.

Texdan,
hope you get you power back soon & everyone is safe. Live in Galveston county & have used my PB just like you on my water well, refrigerator and household stuff with no issues. Good to have a backup. Be safe.

How do you leave the generator on without someone stealing your truck? I think the truck has to be in ready/run mode for the generator to work but can’t some
one just break in and drive off?

Truck is locked: and most of the time no one knows its on! Lights, AC radio, etc all turned off, so not an issue at all.

I used mine for 4.5 days straight after a storm took out our power lines, this alone makes the Powerboost a great choice

I have the PB w/ 7.2 Kw option. Last year during Memorial Day weekend get together I got about 85 continuous hours of generator use before the truck shut itself due to low fuel. It went from early Friday afternoon until the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

That's the only time I've run it long enough to cause the truck to shut itself down.

We were boondocking at a friend's house with other invited RV friends. The other friends were using twin Hondas to power their trailers.

Any idea on how much fuel was left when it shut off?
