Power back after 92 hours (3 1/2 days) - turned the POWERBOOST off (overnight) after day one, but ran continuously for last 2 1/2 days:
very little gas usage - in the end was just 1/4 tank, and the electricity was very even. Powered a fridge, a freezer, PC, wifi modem, charged a lot of batteries, and powered some LED lamps.

Great experience - quiet generator for the most part. Very pleased with the 7.2KW PB.

The message on the dash said 50 miles to empty. I filled it up within 10 miles after leaving the camping field. I put 26.752 gallons in the 30.6 gallon tank, so I had about 3.848 gallons left when it shut down.

That's good info - seems likely the generator mode shuts off independent of fuel level - that just happened to be how much fuel you had remaining when you hit the 50 miles remaining low fuel indicator.

The truck will turn off at 50 miles to empty in generator mode. It's just so you don't run out of fuel. When you hit that 50 miles, you be done. HA

Make sure you turn off your climate control and other features such as the dashboard screen, heated seats etc... as it's amazing how much power they use as well.

I have to chuckle, I was doing this with my Prius 12 years ago. Tapped from the main traction battery, running a server room UPS, 4.5kw 120/240 volts output. It could run the majority of my house for 3+ days. The engine would cycle on/off multiple times per hour, and it was a good idea to turn off the screen and A/C to save extra gas.

Some said we were crazy, but it got the attention of the ham radio community.
