Default Protection/ESP

Sorry if I'm bringing up a much talked about topic, but I'm hoping to get some clarification...I'm planning to keep my 2021 for roughly 10 years/150k miles. I'd like to do an extended warranty and service plan to avoid random costs down the road. Can someone with past experience (Ford specifically) give me some details on their experience? Does Ford have extended warranties for that long? Is maintenance plan separate or bundled in that warranty? I have seen everyone goes through either Ziegler or Flood to get the best deals.

Thanks in advance.

The are some Ford dealers that offer it and at a much cheaper price than most. Their website shows all the details and answers to your questions. I used https://www.floodfordesp.com/ there is another on out there that is comparable but can't remember their name.

I have an ESP on my 2017 Lariat for 6 years and 100.000 miles. I am currently at 49,000. I took the enhanced rental car option and would advise it. My Truck has been in the shop for 19 days (Cam Phasers (10 Days), BCM replacement (3 days), & is currently there (4 days and counting) for a wiring fault in the left door area). Ford has provided a loaner every time (2 expeditions and 1 F150). My plan is the premium one with $50 deductible. So far I have paid $50 for repairs (the cam phasers were covered under power train warranty). With all of the electronics in these vehicles I would recommend one.

Literally hundreds of posts on this topic.

You should review the maintenance requirements in the manual. You'll find that paying for a maintenance plan (as opposed to an extended warranty) would be quite a losing proposition, since the only suggested maintenance before 100,000 miles is changing oil and filter, changing air filter(s), and inspecting things.

For a 2021 truck? I highly doubt that. I know you can't resist the opportunity to reply to every single thread with the same "Literally hundreds of posts on this topic" message but just give it a rest...

They were a little more at first but there is an option to request a discount code. Once I applied the discount code it was about 100 or so less than the other options I found

The Ford ESP has served me well. I still have my Ford Thunderbird that I purchased new in 2003. I purchased an ESP plan from an internet dealer just before the 3/36 expired in 2005. My first ESP got a 7 year extension which took me to 2012. In 2010 the AC blew, that was a $2,300 bill that ESP covered. A month before that ESP ended, I extended again. This time for six years. That was the max Ford let me cover. That took me into 2018. In 2014 I noticed an oil leak. It was the rear engine seal. ESP covered all but deductible. In 2015, AC blew again, ESP covered again. Albeit they did give me a little bit of trouble. The dealer had to have a Ford rep approve the work since it was a redo of the 2010 AC repair. I started using a local Lincoln dealer to repair the T-Bird since they are basically a Lincoln LS. The original AC repair was done by a Ford dealer. I think they were trying to pin the bill on the original dealer that did the work. the My last covered ESP was about three months before the end of the ESP. The power steering failed and the whole steering rack seized up. That was a $4000 bill that ESP covered.

I think I got my moneys worth. As long as you don't let the ESP laps, Ford will let you cover a car well past 10 year.
