Default Pro Tail gate?

Ordering a 2026 Lariat 501a. I would like the step tailgate without the "PRO Tailgate" Ford used to offer the "Utility package" which had the basic pull out step with assist bar an bed lights? Everything I find now includes the Pro Gate which I am not interested in. Can you still order the truck with the step/lights only utility package? If so please tell me where I can confirm that and how do I insure the new truck does not arrive with the Pro gate?

Info on line is conflicting depending on site you find as to whether this is possible?

Any link to an up to date ford spec option list would be greatly appreciated. Ford Authority site says you can Ford.com only shows pro gate???

May have just answered my own question? looks like the 501a kicks it to the Pro gate?? any way to work around this?

Dealer states step only tailgate not available on 501a and up. I'll bet by next year they make it available at all levels. They are pushing the Pro gate which it seems folks really aren't fond of? The Pro Gate just looks like trouble and noise to me..

So far no issues with my Pro Gate and is nice to load/unload heavy stuff. If does FEEL flimsy when closing.

The same here with myself. I really like it and use it a lot but it does seem on the flimsy side. Truck is only 7 1/2 months old with 25000 km and still no problems and I drive quite a bit of gravel roads.

I still hate Ford's stupid decision to not make it available on every trim. Those bastards.

Understand your reluctance. I thought PAT was just a gimmick but ended up really liking it, so maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised if you have to get one.

was hopeful that I would be able to open the tailgate and not hit my trailer jack. Nope. Well, I can open it but not far enough to be actually useful.

I'll take it off your hands. I'll even leave my tailgate with you.

No but for real, is there anything different on the bed end of things with the PAT? If I purchase an STX with regular old tailgate, can I just find a PAT and throw it on there or is there some bracket or sumpin else that only PAT-equipped beds come with? I hope not. That's the plan, get a cheaper model, add the fancy tailgate maybe.
