powerboost with lots of issues
Update: Got the truck back from the dealership. As I expected, they programmed it, and it seems to have corrected the problem. I have driven the truck around town and took a little road trip (1500 miles) with no problems. For information purposes, I checked the gas mileage on the trip and on the first half of the trip I took the scenic route (No interstates) speed limits averaged about 50 - 55 MPH about half flat land and about half hilly country. Electric miles were about 30%. I got 28 MPG. Coming back I used interstates and got about 15% electric miles. Speed limits 70 - 75 MPH. I got 26 MPG. The highest speed I have noticed the electric motor engaged is about 55 MPH. I manually checked the mileage against the dash MPG meter and it was within 3 tenths. As a comparison, my previous truck with the same eco boost engine averaged about 22 MPG.
I hope this solved the problem, because I really, really like this truck.

New powerboost, 1 week old, less than 1000 mi. I will paste a copy of the note I wrote for the service writer to give to the tech working on the truck at the dealership.
The truck had been running for approximately 1 minute. I backed it up to a trailer so that I could install the backup assist sensor.
The engine was running normally as I put the truck in park and exited. As I exited, the engine started running very rough for about 2 - 3 seconds and stalled.
It appeared that everything electrical running off the engine battery was operating normally, but the engine nor the electric motor would restart. (The engine would not turn over at all)
The following warning lights displayed on the dash - Orange “Check engine” light, red battery symbol (It did not specify if it was the engine battery or the drive battery), and another red symbol shaped as an outline of a truck with an exclamation point in the center. (I do not know what this symbol represents, because it is not shown in the owners manual)
All of the accessories in the truck seemed to be operating normally, but the truck would not start or let me take it out of Park.
After 2 hours of failing to find a problem, I called for a tow truck to haul the truck to your dealership. When the tow truck driver called to say they were on the way, I went to the truck to see if there was a way to put it in neutral for loading. I hit the start button and it started normally. The warning lights on the dash went out and the engine was running smoothly. I took it for a test drive and it performed normally. I canceled the tow truck.
Later that day my son brought over my code reader and we attempted to pull the codes on the truck. While attempting to scan the codes, the truck started running rough and stalled several times, but did not shut down totally or show any warning lights.
I had noticed previously that the truck would sometimes idle roughly while at a stoplight but it didn’t seem to be bad enough to cause concern at the time. I was going to have you look at it when I came in for my first oil change.
Engine sometimes idles rough while stopped at a light or when in neutral. Sometimes will stall out.
I have not heard anything back yet, they said they would look at it tomorrow. What I am trying to find out is what that red warning light in the shape of a truck with an exclamation point in the center, stands for. The service writer had no idea, it is not shown in the owners manual and a call to ford customer service was no help. It is NOT the hood open warning, the hood is closed in the light. It is on the dash next to the battery warning light. Anyone have any idea's what it is?

Peace.
I would guess that for every problem thread, there are probably 10000 trucks without the issue, and probably 10 members not responding without a problem. People are much more likely to report an issue versus saying everything is good.
As an old boss once told me after giving me an "atta-boy" for doing what I was supposed to be doing anyway: "one aw-**** wipes out ten atta-boys."
So apparently I spoke too soon. This morning electric motor stopped turning on when I was about half way to work. Got to office and restarted truck and had a service engine soon light (wrench). Called dealer and brought it in. They looked up my truck through Ford system and apparently my truck has been giving engine faults nearly every day I’ve owned it for last 3 weeks. But today was my first notification of an issue. Hoping that this is not a big deal as the eco boost engine is running fine.
So today I took it in to dealer I bought it from. Called some other dealers in miami first, but most of them said they were overwhelmed with 100s of service jobs and couldn’t get to me and one dealer - Midway Ford - told me they wouldn’t work on my truck unless I bought it there. So took it to Grieco in FTL where I bought it - looked in miami first as FTL is a trek. Anyway, service manager was an awesome dude and got me in. They ran diagnostics on all components and battery. Everything was fine. Technician said he noticed that a bunch of my fuses were loose from the factory and thinks I may have been getting insufficient voltage to the electric motor. He tightened them up and now truck is working great. Drove it for 2+ hours today no issues and the electric motor works as it should. Was very happy it wasnt something more serious as i expected after reading some of the messages in this forum re: Powerboost.
