[QUOTE=kirk_75;7604041]Any idea what a repair for this would cost?[/

Paint will need to be blended and then clear coat the entire panel, A pillar to behind rear door. Prices would vary by shop and location, but I would say under $1000.

Yup, careless buffer work. But the first time did not stop the bozo from continuing. I wonder where else he/she burned through the paint.

X3. 25 year painter here, 7 for ford. That is 100% a burn through with the buffer. More than likely a dirt nib in the paint. They sanded flat and buffed it. Burned through and touched it up. Op more than likely washed the touch up off.

I personally also have rapid red. And it has dust nibs on the C pillar area as well

Update: Took it by the local Ford dealer this morning who wouldn't even step outside to look at it since they don't have a body shop. Told me I could take it to dealerships 3 hrs away, great help they were. Then said the Lincoln dealership are mile down the road could process warranty work. Took the truck to them, they said they can't process paperwork for Ford warranty but could do the work if it's approved by Ford. Glad you treat a guy who has had 5 F150s in a row that way. Might be time to move on from Ford if that is how their customer service is.

A Lincoln dealer can absolutely do Ford warranty work, I used to submit Lincoln claims all the time,

they didnt want to mess with it

Yeah, their excuse was they only had one person and they couldn't keep up because they mainly sell Dodge/Ram. I am just not happy at the whole situation. Even if they looked at it and said they wouldn't warranty it at least they did something.

This will all depend on how far you personally are willing to take it. Because they both are either lying or, withholding some truth. Lincoln is Ford. I work at Honda currently. We process acura warranty all the time. And vice versa.

Dealers are franchises. So each one can treat you differently. If you are willing to try again. You can insist they look at it. That dealer has to have a local body shop they sub out the work to. How else would they deal with transport damage, or in house damage? Mechanics can eff up a lot of cars.
