The deep "rain channels" on top of my roof are extremely thin like that too. Didn't bring it up as it's not seen.

I received my 2023 with a quarter-sized paint bubble right in the middle of the floor of my bed.

Took it to my dealership. "yup, that's ridiculous... Ford approved paint shop is 5 miles up the road, they'll get you set"

Took it to the body shop. They agreed paint defect. Got me in ASAP (apparently warranty work you skip the line... which was months for other vehicles), took 1 day, I was on my way.

At least in my experience it was extremely easy to get Ford to warranty the defect.

I would expect these Ford approved body shops to also be able to have an idea what might be going on with your paint.

There is no way it could be rubbing on anything could it?

It’s from a rotary machine. It was covered up most likely by a red sharpie or possibly paint. This was damaged and covered up. 45 years of polishing here.

So you think someone tried to pull a fast one? The paint they covered it up with must have been applied very well as it wasn't at all noticeable when going over the truck before purchasing it. I am hoping to get news from the dealer on Friday.

Yes, it was definitely covered up. It’s very difficult to miss that one because of its location. Do you happen to have any photos of that area before you noticed it for comparison? Maybe looks a little off. Once I took a picture of my new Explorer on the lot and the next day I noticed a dent in the hood. No issues with the dealer fixing it, but I showed them the photo I took before I left the lot that captured the damage. Any side shots that you can zoom in on?

By the way, a decent dealer will fix it most likely anyway, especially if they think their detailer may have caused it.

Any idea what a repair for this would cost?
