Default To order or not

Somewhat torn to order a truck and what to order....
Supercab....probably another EB either space white or silver
Things I dont want are power running boards and tailgate, wouldnt mind heated steering wheel.
Cant build anything here on Canadian site so I dont even know if our packages will be the same as US.
Heated steering wheel means a 502A....which probably gets me power running boards...dont want
502A with tailgate step gets the power tailgate....dont want.
Looking like Im gonna sacrifice something here.
302A loaded up wont get me the heated steering wheel but such is life.
I really need to see the space white in person too.
It would be nice to configure a truck exactly the way you want with a factory order....but you just cant.

Power boards are an option on 502A, not standard. They aren't available on a Supercab anyway.

After two Toyotas, now back to Ford again! I am not considering hopping on the wagon of custom ordering because the three main options are simply not available at any dealers. I want a Supercrew, XLT 302A, with the B/o sound system add on, 40/20/40 column shifter, V8. That's it. Not sure if it'll take 6 months to build this? Maybe a two tone color for good measure.

While I can't envision not liking the power tailgate, that thing has been a surprise as to how much I like it and has been helpful, you can disable it in the instrument cluster. So even if you get stuck with it, you can just turn it off.

If you're in a hurry to get a new car, buy off the lot. If you need it at X date, don't order.

If you have another car and you can afford to wait a bit, order. Get the one you want. But be prepared to wait as long as 6 months, possibly even longer. My Supercab 8' bed HDPP took 9 months order to delivery.

Right now realistically you will be able to negotiate similar deals with either option, so price comes out to a wash.

I recommend ordering if you can afford to wait, especially if you want something unique.

Thanks! I can indeed wait, as I have a brand new 2021 Tacoma TRD offroad, premium package with only 3000 miles (still within demo range). I just can't stand the low ceiling as Toyotas are moslty for short people. Otherwise I love this little truck and it's as a legend as the F150. I only owned it for 2 months so I guess in 3 months time, it'll reach 6000 miles, for a Tacoma the appraisal value will not be much lower than now. So...I can wait.

I couldn't agree more. I love the power tailgate. The only reason I have it is because I wanted the step. I've used the step a couple of times now, and while handy, its usefulness pales to the power gate. Being able to close it with full arms, or have it pop open as I am heading towards it absolutely fantastic.

Does it matter which dealership you order your F150 from? I mean if they are not taking any deposits what's stopping me from going to as many dealerships and placing an order and see which one comes first. Although I might have an issue because I'm using the the xplan.

I was wondering the same! Some dealership say they take a non-refundable deposit, to push for a commitment, other just take a deposit and will refund, and you are saying some don't even need deposit... between the refundable and waiver ones, sure, why not placing many orders....if you have that energy lol.
Anyhow, I was stoked to hear my newly placed order, two days ago, is immediately scheduled for production on Dec 13th! That's like totally pre-pandemic rate.
