Default Ok Google - Engine Start

Might be old news but did anyone know you can use ok google to start your truck by setting up routines within ok google? I sure didn't...
I find this easier to do on the cold mornings than opening the app and waiting for Ford Pass to load. For someone reason on my phone the app opens slowly or the app just restarts. Now I just say "start my truck" and it starts and I can "shut off truck" and it shuts off and doors remain locked.

I don't understand at all but it sounds interesting! Care to elaborate?

Can you elaborate on how you set this up? Would love to be able to do this also

Not a fan of the app either, doesn't start half the time and is slow. Usually just use the fob from inside the house

Ha. I wouldn't have thought of that. If you aren't in easy remote range to use the FOB that would beat waiting on the app sometimes

If you have "ok google" enabled on your phone say "Ford Pass to start my truck". You'll have to link your Ford Pass app to Google.

Once you login it'll tell you to create a four digit pin that you'll have to give everytime to start. But to override this create a "routine" in ok google settings under "routines". Then under actions type "Ask Ford Pass to start engine with pin XXXX" under starters put "Start my truck". Add same thing but to shut off truck. Then you won't have to enter the pin anymore.

Anytime you want to start the truck from here on out all you have to say is "start my truck".

yeah man...in the morning if it's really cold I'll start it while brushing my teeth or while packing my lunch for the day. Half the time I forget to use the app bc I hate it. This will be much easier.

This is so far beyond me lol. Don't know how to "link an app". Don't know what a "routine" is. I am sort of proud when I manage to tell it to send a text or navigate to an address lol. Just amazing!

Yeah, think some of us might need step by step instructions that a 5 y/o could use 🤣

That's me! Luckily the Ford Pass app works perfect for me, I guess I will stick with it. I use it most cold evenings when I am getting ready to leave work. Feels like total luxury to have a warm seat 👍
