Modifications for Speed
Looking for the top 2 or 3 modifications to 'hot rod' my f150. Currently it's all pretty much stock. Wouldn't mind a little more 'gurgle' to it too - not too much though, I'm not a young guy, almost 70!
FYI, I have only little mechanical knowledge. Someone else would be doing the work.
Appreciated!

First go ECO or slippery mode for that marshmallow go pedal feel. Then try sport mode for more fun, then try trailer towing with engine / transmission breaking to help in braking if cornering is also your cup of tea. Get to know your F150 in ALL driving modes.
Air resistance and weight are your biggest problems to overcome. All F150's have a powerful enough engines to go fast but a Mustang with a 2.3EB can out run a F150.
The 2023 Mustang with a 2.3 EB model top speed clocked in at 121 miles per hour, while the 2024 version gets up to 145 miles per hour. The comparison between zero and 60 miles per hour shows less change. The 2023 EcoBoost clocked in at five seconds, while the 2024 version gets it done in 4.9 seconds.
VS a 2023 Tremor with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 leapt to 60 mph in just 5.3 seconds, trailing the more powerful Raptor by just 0.1 second. A four-wheel-drive Lariat with the PowerBoost hybrid powertrain galloped to 60 mph in an also brisk 5.4 seconds.
Start with air flow and lowering and reducing weight as the first steps to get a F 150 out of the wind and go faster. Tires and wheel weight are easy to change but a lighter wheels and tires could mean your F150 is also only good as a go fast vehicle.
Right rear gearing to the engine. 3.73 gearing gets you off the line and should get you to a respectable top speed with today's 10 speed transmission, lock out 9&10 maybe even 8th.
Then you have tunes and not even getting close to that rabbit hole as there are so many out there.
Also a old 71 year old gear head that still likes the feel of a right foot being stopped by the floor board.
Have a 2.7EB with 3.73 gearing that now has the swing out rear bed tool boxes on both sides. When installing took out my old tool boxes and boy oh boy the rear tires liked to squeal when taking off. Weight placement is also a critical component of getting off the line.
