Default Max Tow Experts

I have a 2023 XLT loaded with a max tow package on order. Once it arrives the dealer is going to install the Fox 2.0 leveling as well as a Fox stage 2 exhaust and CAI. The salesman called today asking why I would get the Max tow as he said it's going to ride rough as s*** but every roush truck I drove has the Max tow and I thought they rode great. Any thoughts or expert opinions on this would be appreciated. The most I'll likely tow is a pair of jet skis or small travel trailer.

I replied on the other forum, short answer is there is a barely noticable slighlty firmer ride. Nothing like the HDPP trucks. Salesman is clueless.

I just traded a 2016 Lariat Max Tow. It didn't ride like poo.
As a matter of fact, it was a couch on the highway, so much so that with the 18" wheels I had to watch my speed in tight corners.... the slowest cornering truck I've owned. Well maybe since the lifted 1993 with 15" wheels that I got rid of around 2007 or 2008.

Plus it shouldn't matter because you're changing out the suspension anyway. The rear leaf springs are not that heavy that you'll have a brick of a truck after you change the suspension.

2021 Lariat Super Cab with Max tow here.

Max tow comes with a 36 gallon tank and upgraded electronic locking rear axle. Rides smooth empty and even better towing. Does that salesman drive a truck everyday or a BMW?

My max tow rides like a dream on a cloud. Salesman is clueless.

However, the problematic rear axle on the max tow trucks might be enough to second guess the max tow, but not the ride quality.

He wants to talk you out of it. So he can sell it to someone else for more.

Yes. All max tow spec’ed trucks, not just Powerboosts.

Honestly, at the 2K plus price, unless you absolutely have to have the 36 gallon tank, IDK if it's worth it anymore. When the 14th gen came out, it was like an $1100 option.

I wouldn’t have an F150 if it wasn’t for the 36 gallon tank. That is a top 3 requirement for me on the truck.

However, you can still get the 36 gallon tank without max tow. In fact I think you can get almost all the upgrades that come with max tow separately, aside from the upgraded hitch which isn’t a big deal anyway.
