Default Let the Fun (and mods) Begin!

Finally! After 6 months since I placed the order and almost a month since it arrived at the dealer, I picked up my new Lariat this morning. By 10:30 we were on the road and after 300 miles everything seems great. For laid back initial miles we are off the interstate and exploring US and state highways plus some local roads. The power seems more than adequate, the interior comfort is great, and the on-board system claims 21.2 mpg. My experience with Granger Ford has been exemplary, from initial ordering to taking delivery. Now I can really start thinking hard about immediate and pending modifications.

Beautiful! Congrats and enjoy. I ordered same trim, cab and bed. Mine is being built this week supposedly so waiting anxiously. I decided to also pick up at Granger when ready. Can't wait.

Looks nice! Mine finally came in. We’ll be picking it up Monday morning for the 2000 mile drive home. Road trip!

Yup. Any excuse for a road trip, especially when not in a hurry. Today we stopped at Scotts Bluff in western Nebraska, a landmark for pioneers on the Oregon Trail. I always like driving through parts of the country where people grow, dig, and make real physical things.

I forgot to mention that on the second (half) tank, we went 256 miles on 11.2 gallons, for about 22.9 mpg. The onboard system claimed 22.3. I am very happy with that.

Then I bolted up a set of 275/70-18 K02s on stock cast rims. Getting the TPMS working was a challenge, but resolved by the tech at Discount Tire.

Today was a marathon day. First I took off the active air dam and actuators. I also sealed up the disconnected plugs.
