I’ve had this issue since day one. Really crappy experience for me and more so for passengers. Scares the poop put of them. My iPhone is on iOS 17.1.1. Why is this so hard to correct?

I have a 2022 F150 and I'm having the same issue - when the phone rings through carplay it's as loud as it can be....but if I turn the volume down on the truck, you can't hear the person you're talking to. Did anyone ever figure this out? Seems like there should be a pretty easy fix....??

There must be a way to adjust this!!!

I can confirm de-selecting "change with buttons" stops it from changing the ringer volume

I have never had the "change with buttons" selected under Sounds & Haptics settings on my iphone, and when someone calls me while I am driving the ringer is so loud. It essentially is at level 20 (which is what I have to have the volume set to when talking to someone so I can hear them), but my radio I usually listen to at 5.

In short I dont think the ringer volume changing on the phone with the buttons is the issue, but rather the volume that CarPlay/SYNC decides to use when the phone rings.

That sounds like a different problem than I experience. In my truck I select the ringer volume and phone volume with the truck radio volume ****. This is controllable only when the ringer is ringing. Sounds like you have a bug.

No, mine works just as you describe, as do all of the others on this thread. But the ringer volume is so loud when the phone first rings (20), which is the last setting the phone is on when talking. When you hang up the truck remembers that volume setting, so the next time it rings, the ringer blasts you. If you use the volume **** to turn down the ringer before you answer the phone, you then have to turn it back up to hear the person on the phone. If one were to remember to turn the volume down at the end of the call every time before hanging up then you wouldnt get blasted the next time someone calls. I honestly dont know if this is a CarPlay or SYNC issue, but I do know when I am connected to my wife's Kia (either tethered CarPlay or bluetooth) this is not an issue.

I’ve been following this thread and others for several years, had the same ringer volume issue on my 2021 and now 2024. I’ve tried every suggestion changing volume when phone rings, switching off “adjust volume with Buttons” and even saw once to uninstall Waze.

nothing works. Is this an Apple, Ford, CarPlay or SYNC issue? I can’t believe that with all of the complaints on forums and Apple this hasn’t been resolved

Come to join the promt volume loud as hell crowd. Thing is, if I turn it down, it just returns right back to the original level. It doesn't "hold" the set volume. Waiting on a fix.
