I prefer the 15-20 mirrors after owning 1 of each of the last 3 gens. The new 21 ones are wider and shorter. Usually at a drive-thru, the sensors go crazy from the driver mirror being close to the walls.

The mirrors are OK.

They could be a little bigger, but I used them yesterday and I could get used to them. I guess Ford figures with all new fangled that you really dont need mirrors with the truck driving itself.

My thoughts, after only sitting in a '21 so far...no test drives yet; is that the std '15-20 mirrors have a better vertical field of view than the '21 std mirror, which is reasonable given the mirror shape difference. But it's not a huge difference, and while I do prefer the view of the 15-20 shape mirror, I will be fine with the 21 also. Of course I'll add 3" frog eyes to each side like I always do, and call it a day.

Trailer Tow Mirrors are a stand alone option and must be ordered separately.”
Right, but you just said what I said. You need the Max Tow or Trailer Tow to add the mirrors, I did NOT say those packages included them. That note you are indicating just tells you that you shouldn't expect the tow mirrors to be added just because you have the package. On the Build and Price, if you add JUST the Tow Tech package and try to add the tow mirrors, it tells you it will remove tow tech and add the Trailer Tow package (at a minimum). Total cost to change, $1225. So no, the trailer tow mirrors are no standalone, as in the previous gen I was able to select them for my build without adding any trailer tow option at all. Not needing other options to add something is what I would consider actually standalone.

Now, this is building a 502a Lariat, I didn't mess with XLT or anything else. There has already been some seemingly without logic rules that apply to one trim and not another when it comes to options like this. But at least on the B&P site for my Lariat, TT mirrors are not standalone. Also it's of course possible the B&P site is wrong, but even on the Order Guide there is a note next to the TT mirrors saying they require the TT or MTT package. So if you ACTUALLY got a build where your truck doesn't have TT or MTT, and still got the mirrors, then it is either something where a certain trim level doesn't require it, or you got lucky, or they will kick the order back at some point and tell your dealer to resubmit and correct the build conflict.

Ahh you’re right, I should’ve done more research before I threw my 2 cents in, I stand corrected! Thanks for the clarification! I think I had already selected Max Tow before I added in the mirrors, but I had assumed that because there was that note saying they were standalone from the Max Tow package, that they were standalone in general.

No issues at all, it's confusing, and their wording of stand alone sure makes it seem like they should be, ya know, stand alone. My guess is their intent was to say they are stand alone from the Max package, not from ALL packages.

Oh well!

Tow mirrors was something I definitely ordered. Had i been able to find a truck with all of my options I would have bought one last year, but the tow mirrors are somewhat rare. I know you can add them but I didn't want to go through the hassle.
Now I sit waiting on a truck that ordered in Jan and I'm wondering if I'll have it time for boating season.
