Default How does X-Plan work on Custom Order

Bit the bullet and ordered a F150 king ranch today. I am eligible for x-plan pricing through work. I have a pin and communicated with 2 local dealers, both said they will do a deal at X-plan as long as I order it, nt on the lot trucks. Fine with me as they have no trucks on the lot! So my question for those of you who have done this, is how and when is the AXZD Plan Pricing Agreement signed? For an on the lot truck you would do it when you do the deal, for an ordered truck what I was told today is they cannot see the pricing on the truck until the VIN is issued and we can do the pricing then. I am concerned about pricing increases and want to get this locked in as soon as possible. Correct my list here if I am wrong:
0. Log into ford partner site, use build and price tool from that website to see X-plan pricing on exact truck you want. For me its a $72,400 ish msrp for $68,450 xplan. Issue PIN
1. Contact dealer and communicate intent to use x-plan price
2. If dealer agrees to use x-plan pricing, build a truck and provide that information to the dealer (via email or go to the dealership and build it within your favorite salesperson)
3. Dealer places the order in the ford system and provides a Preview order sheet which includes MSRP of truck with options.
4. Provide dealer with deposit to reserve truck. In my case $1000. This proves to ford that there is a real person on the other end of the order, not a dealer pretending to be a person. They also include a copy of your drivers license. Was informed this is 100% refundable, no questions asked.
5. Receive email from ford confirming your order. This took about 30 minutes after I left the dealership.
6. Wait for order to proceed to scheduled for production and a VIN is issued.
7. At this point we can finalize the pricing on the truck, including the x-plan discounts and any available ford discounts (HAHAHAHA like those exist). Price protection starts here as well if you have a signed AXZD Plan Pricing Agreement. You need to provide your x-plan pin code, possibly proof of employment/membership.
8. Wait for truck to be built, shipped, not shipped, put on chip hold, shipped, lost in transport, stuck in rail yard, and finally delivered to the dealer.
9. Go to dealer and conclude your deal, no negotiating on the truck price, its done. Manage trade if you have one.
10. Drive home enjoying king ranch power boost goodness.

Is this correct or did I get fed a line from the dealer and need to call and push a little harder.

Thanks!

They showed me list, invioce, X-plan, D-plan, and I think one other plan at the time of quoting. They build it in the system and print it off. Of course I'm not eligible for D-plan but they didn't hide it. They told me the current (at the time) rebates which were $2,650 as I recall, including the $1000 for custom order, and we agreed on the pricing. If the rebates got better at time of delivery I would get those but they didn't. My dealer gave me a trade value on my 2017 F150 that was good until my new one arrived and I kept driving it.. Two other dealers gave me a price good that day only so I would have to turn in my trade when ordering. All of them locked the price at time of order.

Comes into play at purchase time , not at order time. Just went through this. Lock the price at order time then rebates, coupons, X-plan and extra incentives at delivery.

I am expecting mine to be built this week 16 May though I have no Window sticker yet my X plan Lariat priced in at $55K when ordered and I expected it to be priced same as when I ordered it. Salesperson did not tell me any different when ordered in Jan. We'll see. Hope so.

Price should be locked it at what you ordered it at.

Sounds like BS to me. My dealer showed me a sheet with all the plan prices on it before they placed the order.

Just picked up my xplan order Friday. Make sure your get your order in before May 13, I heard that's when orders stop. From my experience if you can't get an xplan price at the time you order, you need to at least get the invoice price. The x plan price can be easily calculated (invoice - (.4% * invoice) + $275 admin fee) with the original invoice price later and will be needed when you pick your truck up. Without it they will base the xplan price on the new invoice at the time you pickup, which in this market will most likely increase several times by the time you receive your truck. Also get everything signed to avoid any confusion later on.

Did you order your truck and if so where in the process did you agree to the price of the truck, invoice price/xplan price. I am thinking they can provide that now as it should be available.

When you order, dealer prints DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment). Has X-Plan price right on it. At delivery, you pay that less incentives at time of order or delivery, whichever is better.

Exactly what @Ricktwuhk said.

Yes I ordered it in October and I agreed on the price at that time. We both signed the document. They tried to get me to buy at the new higher price with their quick sales tactics but I'm no dummy. Stood My ground and kept showing them what was signed. Yes they can and should provide you an x plan price. But They didn't provide me an x plan price at the beginning bc they said they couldn't until a vin is created. They told a lot of us the same thing. Either way if you have an invoice price the x plan can be calculated. Without the invoice it will be difficult.
