Default Ghost A/C

So, let me just say that I must have a ghost in my truck or a Gremlin playing tricks on me. I have a 2025 Ford F150 XLT Blackout edition 5.0. Here's the situation. Driving home at night with just the vent blowing and the sliding rear window open my A/C will start blowing cold air and then will turn off. There are no lights illuminated on the A/C button. I turned the A/C on and off with no change. So, on the way home this will happen 3 to 4 times a night. The truck has 6,112 miles on it. I already know when I take it to dealership they will say they cannot duplicate the problem. Has anyone experienced this? Any thoughts?

Do you have dual zone climate controls?

Yes, I have dual climate control. My apologies. For some reason I can not log onto the forum with my phone. It doesn't like my id and password. Ugh

My 25 does this also. If it is over 55 the AC comes on every time I start the truck, I have to turn it off. I have also noticed the AC will be on when I have it set to 70, but if I adjust it to say 72 or 73 it does not. I have showed my service department this, they say it shouldn't be acting like this. I agree. I will have it looked at when my Active seat bottom comes in to be replaced.

If yours is doing the same thing, it might just be normal, not right, but normal.

Adjust your temp up and see if it stops doing this.

The AC will respond to high humidity and turn on to stop the windows fogging up. https://www.f150forum.com/f129/ac-ac...-truck-566393/

Its the truck using AC to make the interior less humid. It's a weird algorithm for the HVAC but it's working as designed.

I understand the idea it cycles on and off during humid times. The humidity right now is under 40% and it has done it to me both times I went out today.

Also it should recirculate the air at the same time to dry it out, it does not do this. If this is the new normal for the AC in these trucks @ford this is a fail.

I put my temp on 70, I have AC cold air coming out the ducts, even if it is 30 outside. I move it to 72 or 73 and it heats up and stays that way.

Are you using the AUTO function? If so, that could be the issue as well. It keeps the cabin at the set temp and will blow cold and hot to keep it there. It's not like a home HVAC where it shuts on and off, it uses cold and hot to keep it at set temp.

But yes, it's too complex of a system if you are used to an older system. It's quirky but it does work once you learn it.
