Default Generator turns in while driving???

Just wondering I have a powerboost with 7.2 generator. I get a wierd vibration from time to time for about a minute or two. Not a drivetrain vibration. I think it’s the propower turning on. Is this normal? Why’s it doing this?

Not sure I understand. When Pro Power is on in my truck, there is no vibration. It's just electricity moving from the lithium battery to the inverter and to whatever is using AC power.

The only time there may be any vibration is when the truck's engine automatically starts up to recharge the lithium battery. This will last a minute to maybe 2 minutes until the SOC of the lithium battery reaches 60% plus.

Are you driving down the road? Are you at a stop sign? Speed? I do know that if you are in stop and go traffic and the battery goes low that the motor will start up and the truck tries to keep the truck at 800 rpms. My truck does not like this and the truck shakes. Took me awhile to figure this out. It is a gas saving thing the truck does to recharge the hv battery when the truck is not really running any speed.

Not sure where to ask this question but is your elec receptacles from the pro power wired like your house receptacles and is yours grounded?

It’s the revving to 800 rpm. It’s just a wierd feeling when it does it

Mine acts the same way. The “rough idle” is a little unnerving.

It is done to try and save gas when the high voltage battery needs to be charged when the truck is not moving fast enough. I was told that there is a setting in the truck that can disable the truck doing this but i have not looked into it yet.

Make sure your pro power is actually turned off by using the touch button on the screen. It is easy to unplug stuff and forget to actually turn off the system. You can also monitor it through your Ford phone app to ensure it stays off. If after that it does turn on by itself instead of staying off there may be a software issue that needs to be looked at.
