Just got truck for 1 weeks.
how to get rid of it ?

 

FORScan. Do some research and don’t let it scare you. I waited too long to take the plunge, but so glad I finally did. You can change so many things on these trucks to suit your liking. All you need is a laptop and an OBD plug.

 

Once you get Forscan and an OBD reader, here's the change.

APIM 7D0-02-02 xxx* xxxx xx-- If your current value is 0 then change to 1, 2 change to 3, 4 change to 5, 6 change to 7 (then reset APIM)

 

I made the change from 0 to 1 and did not work. Also reset APIM and still did not work.
Any thoughts?

I should have added that if you have the Unreal Theme enabled AND you have the climate bar enabled for Unreal, this memory location controls both the black box and the climate bar. Which is really dumb IMO. In my case I started with a zero and had to use a 3 to enable the climate bar and disable the black bar in the rear camera screen. If you look at the Forscan spreadsheet you can see which numbers you need to use depending on your truck. The numbers are different for hybrid vs. non-hybrid.

If you do not have Unreal and the climate bar, I don't know what the problem is.

 

Why is this message here? Is it a bug and why should we have to use FORScan to remove it?

 

So Forscan is the only way to get rid of this annoyance?

 

Push and hold the VOL and the >> buttons for like 8 to 10 seconds. Let it reboot. Don't need to start engine, just have ACC power on.
