Default Frequency of servicing Powerboost?

Hey all. New to eco boost and Powerboost. How often should I take it in for service? I’m thinking every 3k miles given the EB coolants and maintenance of Lithium battery and electric engine. Thanks

I had a 2018 and had purchased the prepaid maintenance to 55K - the dealer only did oil/filter and rotation every 5K - this was NOT a Ford prepaid plan. They would try and cross sell every service, but I always declined. The only thing the F-150 requires for 100K miles is the air filter/cabin filters. I now have a 2020 and have purchased the FORD 100K, every 10K mile prepaid maintenance plan. $1295 for it made it a NO brainer. Was able to use the 42K reward points when buying the truck towards it... Reduced the price over a couple of hundred dollar.

In the end, it' like paying $129.50 for each service (10 services @ 10K miles), and includes brakes when needed, windshield wipers, etc., air filters, cabin filters, etc.... AND, includes the big 100K service (spark plugs, etc.).

If you look at the manual, depending upon how you drive, you do services at 5K or 10K. I've elected for the 10K services as I don't tow anything with the truck.

I would change the oil (yourself) every 5k miles for typical driving

The electric motor doesn't need this servicing. Nor does the coolant.

Also...what does your owner's manual say in regards to scheduled maintenance?

Thanks. But I’m thinking I’d like to service this 70k+ more often than 10k to make sure things are running right, especially with this new Powerboost engine and it’s components.

By the way, saw the picture of your Limited on the other post... Nice looking truck! Check with Zeigler Ford (Plainwell, MI) - they offer the least expensive FORD service plans available. They have a 'every 5K mileage one' or 20 services over 100K miles... If you aren't planning to do the services yourself, they are NO BRAINER maintenance plans. You can take it to ANY Ford dealer and they do a complete check on the entire truck every time you take it in. If something is needed, they take care of it.

Change the oil yourself at 5k miles.

Consult owners manual for other scheduled maintenance.

Batteries and electric motors are not maintenance heavy

Make sure things are running right by driving it and observing that it's running right and that there are no engine lights or wrenches. And change the oil around 5k

Service it as often as the truck tells you to, at least once a year. If you do a lot of towing, read the manual and service it at the shorter intervals as recommended.

Your truck should tell you. My 2018 used to at least. Was approx every 10,000 km.

thanks so much. I am in Florida. Can I purchase a service plan from that MI dealer and then use it down here?

yes. I’m in Texas and was able to. Look them up online and send them an email.
