FORScan - 14th Gen F150s
#471
It's my first day
One thing that stands out with these new trucks when making changes with ForScan is that new settings don’t always take immediate effect which can be deceiving.
On other Ford vehicles when changing splash screens in Sync 3, we have to hard reset the APIM to see the changes take effect, but in these 14Gen F150 it seems to happen with more parameters than just splash screens and with more modules than just the APIM.
I see some of you suggest to others full ignition cycle(s) are needed to experience changes. That seems to be true in my tests as well. On other Fords a faster method is using the diagnostic tab in ForScan to force reset (power cycle) individual modules, but that method on these new trucks doesn’t guarantee effectiveness all the time in my tests.
There’s been a few users here which have mentioned their inability to experience expected changes, only to post a day or two later that it magically became possible over time.
I think this is a quirk we have to accept and be weary of when testing ForScan edits on newer Ford vehicles whereas the modules are increasingly more integrated and interdependent of each other.

I have been looking through the spreadsheet for a long time and still have not found where you can set the number of directional signal blinks for lane changing. ???

just hanging around hoping someone can figure out how to make changes for a 36 gallon fuel tank swap. of course, I'll have to have someone walk me thru it. I haven't dared to even think about doing anything with forscan.

I was going to tackle the swap myself this weekend, but I finally found a shop that got me on their schedule for Wednesday. I dropped the fuel tank in my last f150 and I'm pretty sure I can do this one also, but now this one's my daily driver and the other one wasn't so I can't afford to screw it up, so I'm waiting for a shop to do it.
Anyway the DTE being incorrect really is just a minor annoyance, but I still want it to be right, lol.
In the meantime, I've been watching youtube videos about forscan and I think it's something I can tackle, once the correct module is cracked.
Like the dude said, "I'm not very computer good"

It's my first day
Found the fuel tank setting in the IPC
New to this generation F150,
First you must set subtract 4 from this address Fuel_LVL_PCM
Example: 720-09-01: xx*x xxxx xxxx
0 = IPC uses IPC DTE settings
4 = IPC uses PCM DTE settings
If 720-09-01 = xx0x xxxx xxxx
Then set max fuel range in the IPC as
720-03-01 xxx0 00x5 54xx
Do a full shutdown and cycle ignition to complete changes.
000 = Tank empty range in US Gallons in hexadecimal format.
*** = 554 = 36 Gallon tank max limit in US gallons in Hexadecimal format.
In my photo I used FFF just out of curiosity which is why my DTE shows 1999 KM to E.
