Default Floor Mat Problem

Just picked up a 21 XLT, Supercrew, 6.5’ bed, 3.5L V6 Ecoboost. The floor of the truck is plain old black vinyl. On the factory sticker there is a line item that says “Vinyl Flooring - Black NO CHARGE” Gee, thanks Ford! LOL

The drivers side does NOT have the two round pegs on the floor to secure any mat. Now, I had those pegs on my 14 F150, and on my 19 F350 (which I traded in for this new truck)......WTF, over!? I don’t think I’ve owned a vehicle in the last 20 years that didn’t have some sort of fastening device for floor mats (on the drivers side).

Who makes a floor mat that will fit, and not slide around? Do I have to shell out the big bucks for a “custom fit” mat?

NOTE: I did just spend a half hour searching threads on this topic, but did not see this similar situation. Thanks.

Odd, I think that would add liability to ford, ask your dealer. I ordered Husky x conture in January for my truck that I ordered. Still haven't gotten the truck ><

That's odd. According to Ford's build and price tool carpeted floor mats are standard in the '21 XLT. But there is something to be said for a vinyl floor. Easy to clean, just point the hose.

Put a couple of those non slip rubber sheets under your floor mats and they won't go anywhere.

Weathertech seems like a place to look. Not affiliated with them but just checked for liners for my 2021 XLT SCREW (carpeted). I saw an option to select carpeted or vinyl floors.

I went with the Husky liners. They fit well and stay in place on my 14.

I agree... Weather Tech has a choice during the vehicle selection, where they ask if you have carpet or vinyl flooring.

I'm more surprised you were able to get/find an XLT with vinyl flooring!!

Husky say their xact mats work on it though.

I had my husky x-act contour mats delivered a couple weeks ago and since my truck won't be ready until Halloween, the dealership was nice enough to let me check out the mats and make sure they fit. I actually just got back from dealer. We ordered the xlt with 40/20/40 front bench so also wanted to test out the center mat.

The only truck they had in with the bench was an XL with the vinyl floor and the mats worked really well. The box did come with the screw in plug but not sure how well that work, maybe check with husky. Tested the rear full coverage mat in a lariat with 2kw power and also fit nicely.

Why bother with floor mats, That’s the point of vinyl flooring. Wish my truck had it, no carpet to cover up
