Default Finally Going To Get Updates

Until today I had not set up a FordPass account. I had read of some updates that messed things up and my truck was fine as is. I thought why mess with it.

But, I would like to get any updates associated with full screen Android Auto, possibly HVAC system and maybe even BMS system. Also, my Sync4 level is a couple of software levels behind.

What can I expect now that everything is set up to get these updates?

I apologize for being behind the curve on this but am looking forward to seeing what can be improved.

My experience has been extremely straightforward - it updates intermittently and I get a notification. I have had no issues with any of the updates applied to my '24

HVAC logic on mine sucks now after some update a while back. Year round I kept it on Auto 2 fan and 68-72 temp, but now on hotter days I have to crank it down to like 60 and manual fan. Air will blow cold, it's just like the truck doesn't think the cab is as hot as it is for auto to work right.

My temp control is terrible compared to other cars we have. There is no logic to it as far as the temp is concerned.

I have mine hooked up to a Noco battery charger when not driven so battery drain shouldn't be an issue.

Had the truck two months. Have gotten two OTA updates. Both seamless installs. The one a few days ago was a Karoke app install. Useless for me but what the hey...

I don't think you need a FordPass account to get truck updates. Truck should get updates regardless of FordPass status. So if you have not been getting regular updates over the past couple of years, I wouldn't expect that you will now just because you set up FordPass. My truck was WAY behind on updates when I bought it used and still had not gotten any updates after 6 months even though I had a FordPass account. So I went the manual FDRS update route and forced something like 30 updates over a weekend. I would suggest looking into that.

Your truck does not have full screen phone projection yet?

Appreciate the info. That may be the way to go.

I have had all connectivity turned off since i bought it. That should be the reason for no updates. The service manager (what do they really know) told me I had to activate my FordPass account to get updates.

No, when using Android Auto it only uses 3/4 of the screen.
