Well it sure seems like it will be more than 300 if that is truly with 1000 pounds of payload. But 460? Thing is, we don't know if the preproduction software was accurate, or what speed/route it was using to calculate that range.
It's also odd that Ford didn't mention that during the reveal. 450+ miles of range would have gotten a lot more people a lot more excited but they decided to underrate it by 150+ miles? It's possible, but I find it a bit hard to believe...especially considering Ford's long tradition of overrating efficiency.

Anyone got a power outlet they'll let me borrow?
Truck people, you are still plugging into a grid that may be coal-fired, hydro powered or other... it's redundant. So on your five day 1,000-mile deer hunting trip to Montana where you gonna plug in? "Where's Bob? Last I saw him he had to stop at the rest area and find a power outlet." or "Dang, that snowstorm shut everything down for a while...how can I charge my truck?". "I'm okay I got extra diesel/gas for my tractor/ATV I can use."
It's a big toy...not a serious working truck. Just my opinion.

And Bob isn't stupid, he bought a powerboost cuz he knew he needed to go farther than the EV truck could take him.

Personally, a plug in hybrid that gets 50 miles of range on just electric would be perfect for me. Electric only, basically in the city when I drive around, and gas for trips and towing.

I think the f150 Lightning is a fantastic starting point for Ford. It shows Ford is serious about the future and is here to stay. For me I hope to see or get some news about the F-150 Tremor soon. When a F150 can be fully charged in 15 min with a 300 mile range than I'm in.

I am anxiously awaiting our infrastructure's response to the exponential growth of power use 
Something else that we need to start thinking about... everyone thinks largely of charging a single EV at home. Our home has four cars, two kids in college driving 70+ miles each per day, wife drives 100+. I can almost walk to work, but that's not always the case. What changes might be required for the average home to handle that kind of a load overnight? What changes will need to occur for the infrastructure to handle it?

Folks with older homes will have to make some very expensive changes to handle multiple vehicles charging…

And that's why this truck isn't for everyone. Wouldn't work for me either until they get the range high enough so I can tow a 6000# trailer over 300 miles....but that day is coming. For many truck owners they don't tow or don't leave the city, this truck will be fine for them.
