Default Drive Mode

So, accepting opinions.

I like sport mode, not too worried about the mpg difference between that and normal. Is it OK to just daily drive in sport? I'm not tuned, or running high octane. 89 at best right now

I asked this question here recently. Everyone stated that it is safe.

Sport mode helps OCD people who poo themselves when the tranny skips gears.

Sport mode is awesome… turns mine into a high strung pouncer!

It’s probably good to run it in SM keeps all the juices flowing 😁

I run mine in sport mode about half the time. I like to use all my gears and its a plus that it cancels the cylinder deactivation. With all of GM's problems with that I prefer not to tempt fate.

GM V8s with cylinder deactivation have issues with carbon buildup in the deactivated cylinders, if you run the 5.0 in sport or tow-hall mode it deactivates the cylinder deactivation. The problems with the GM engines has existed for several years, Ford has just started using this system.

The only thing i don't like about Sport Mode as it stays in the lower gears[keeping the engine at higher RPM]and doesn't up shift into the higher gears unless you're going really fast!! This is where a Throttle Enhancer like Pedal Commander,Pedal Max or Pedal Monster is better IMO as Throttle Response is greatly improved and it lets your vehicle shift into the higher gears at lower speeds unlike Sport Mode!! I don't have an F-150 but have the Pedal Max on my Bronco Sport with the 1.5 Eco Boost and it made a Night and Day difference Throttle Response is greatly improved and it's much more enjoyable to drive!! IIRC there's a thread about these devices in the 2015-2020 Section!!

I've seen devices like Pedal Commnder and Pulsar. But it seems like a lot of money to do something the drive mode switch already does. Or am I missing something? Because I almost bought the Pulsar...
