Default Headlamp Setting
Does anyone know dhow to override the default headlamp setting? From the manual "The lighting control defaults to autolamps every time you switch your vehicle on." Not good at a camp ground or an Astronomy Site...Thanks
Yes....but as soon as you restart it reverts to the default which is auto-on...Even if your hand is back on the switch to turn it off, they still come on for a second or two, enough for people who are taken photos of the nights sky to become very angry..!! I dont have the ability to change code ect, just wondering if a hand stand, door lock four times and clicking a seatbelt thing somebody knows of...
Unreal.
Makes me glad I bought my 2020 instead of a 2021. I can turn the headlamps OFF...I can't imagine NOT being able to...for those reasons that you describe and a lot more. Sometimes you just don't want lights on!

Sorry to ask the same thing as has been asked.....
Does the headlight dial of 'off'. In previous years you had to turn the dial to AUTO for auto lights to work as long as the dash setting asks for it.
However, if the literal headlight dial is turned to OFF, it's like a vehicle of the 70's and you can drive without lights all night long.
Lets not confuse this with any sort of perimeter lighting that comes on, but headlights should not be part of the perimeter lighting so I think you are talking exclusively about staring the vehicle.
Also, by your comments, Ford has changed the entire behavior because the headlights, when enabled to auto, would only light up when in drive, I think? That is the DRL system, auto lights may in fact come on even in part, I guess. Maybe Ford is now dumb like the rest of the auto makers who think headlights should be on automatically when the vehicle is not in motion.

I did not mention perimeter lighting...The light switch to the left of the steering wheel 1st Position -OFF , 2nd Position- Parking Lights, 3rd Position - I forgot, 4th Position - Auto On....Which is the default....My Switch is set to off, once you exit the vehicle and come back it is back to Auto On....
