I want to add a basic front only dash cam to my 2021 F150 SCREW. It will be powered via a Dongar adapter so it will be off when the truck is off . I am reluctant to go for the adhesive mount so I'm open for suggestions for a suction mount or other options to the adhesive. I could also be talked into the adhesive if others have had positive experiences with it. A basic camera is what I'm looking at. Price is a consideration. Any help will be appreciated.

If you haven't bought yours yet look at the Fitcam X. I have one and it looks like a stock install. there is no adhesive and not suction cup. I got rear-ended and the camera automatically saved the 1 minute before and after the accident in a different folder. The other guys insurance company alleged that I slammed on the brakes and may be partially at fault. I told him that the vehicle in front of me was stopped, I saw that and slowed down never "slamming" on the brakes. He still said I may be partially to blame. I then dropped the hammer and sent him the dash cam, Front and Rear. They paid for everything. The other driver never slowed, he wasn't paying attention.
I have the Rove R2-4K-Dual off Amazon. It has routinely placed in top 5 across most reviews. I have zero complaints, the software is always being updated which is what I was looking for.

I third fitcam x. A picture of mine installed. It’ll use existing rearview mirror to mount (no stickers), and I believe it came with the dongle. that said, I’ve used 3m stickers in the past and no problem what so ever.
suction cup? Be ready to mount it every time you get into the vehicle. Doesn’t work with temperature swings
I use a Wolfbox G900 pro in my F150. The reason I went with this brand is there is an option to mount to the rearview or replace it. I replaced the OEM rearview and now have a digital rearview mirror with built in front camera. I absolutely love it.
I got a FitcamX knockoff that looks like it probably comes from the same factory in China. Same chip. A lot cheaper. I like it. You can get front and back for $180 right now, brand KuTaiTai
BTW, for anyone who has a FitcamX or knockoff, one of the best things you can do is take an old phone and use it for the monitor. Otherwise you'll have some issues with having to turn WiFi on and off on your regular phone. This only matters for live monitoring, not recording to memory card which works fine either way. Nice to have a little monitor though - if you're missing that bed cam, you can use the rear cam and a dedicated phone monitor like this to get something similar.
Interesting, this is my upgrade task for this coming week. The referenced Dongar adapter requires the 16-pin mirror, I will have to see if my 23' STX trim has that https://dongar.tech/products/16pin-f...5CNzWDQ9usCWhC I am planning on installing the Nextbase 622GW 4K dash cam which is consumer reports top pick.
