I keep reading a lot of people saying they are very happy with the 3.73 rear and they aren’t getting that bad of fuel milage. Most of us don’t buy trucks for the fuel milage but it’s a bonus if it does good. My 22 3.5 gets 19 around town and 21 highway without a trailer. I’m hoping for at least 16-18 city from the 5.0

I had similar experience. I signed the build-sheet on 4/27 in the morning and got an email from Ford saying I was scheduled for production (last week of May) by that same afternoon.

have you had any progress with your order yet? Mine doesn’t have a scheduled date yet. It’s just confirmed as of now. I’m still waiting for the next email saying it’s scheduled for production

that’s a very helpful page thank you! I checked my priority code and it says 19. Ford emailed me and confirmed my order but that’s as far as it’s gotten. I’m hoping for a scheduled built date soon
Edit- k just saw the order form from my dealer and it says priority code 10

My '23 with 3.73 gets almost identical mpg to my '17 with 3.55. I do get a bit worse than those with 3.31s, but I like the 3.73s better for towing and going up a tire size.

Im planning on 20x10s with 35s so that’ll be awesome with the 3.73s. The hardest part is going to be waiting for the truck to get built and ship!

My wife has a 16 f150 ecoboost and she loves it. I almost wish I went with the 3.55 rear. I hope I didn’t make a mistake. My truck gets used for hauling my ATVs to the cabin but it’s about half highway half back road mountain hills and I use it on nice days around town. I have a work truck so I don’t need to DD my f150. Hopefully I didn’t screw up by getting the 3.73
You will not regret going with the 3.73 instead of 3.55. The difference between the 2 is so minimal, you would probably never notice the difference if you drove both trucks. It's only one size higher. Its probably only the difference of a couple hundred RPMs on the highway and less than 1 MPG. Years ago, my mustang had a factory 3.08 rear end and I put a 4.10 in it. Thats a big difference. I think you get the bigger gear and axle housing (9.75 vs 8.8) with the max tow and 3.73. My 2011 F150 SCREW 3.5 with 3.73s still gets low 20s MPG on the highway unloaded driving the speed limit and it tows my 8000lb camper on the highway and up hills easily. The higher gears keep you in a better power band (RPM range), henceforth more power for towing and very slight reduction in MPG. There's almost a tradeoff to everything with cars and trucks. If you do ANY towing, in my opinion , it's worth it with the 3.73. Hope this makes sense. Good luck and don't worry about your decision. You're going to love your new truck.

Thanks for all the input! I can’t wait for the truck to come. I got the confirmation email from ford but I’m still waiting on the “scheduled to be built” email. I have a 22 3.5 max tow now and it tows like there’s nothing behind it. I’m hoping for the same with the new truck!

I ordered a 5.0, supercrew 4x4 Lariat with sport and max tow packages. Order to delivery time was roughly 9 weeks. Shipping was exactly 3 weeks plus another week getting from the rail yard to the dealer and prepped for pick up. I'd expect something similar for the OP.
